Low-techMulti-media
I refer to the second body of work as Low-tech Multi-media. Here my devotion to paint is set aside while my
social commentary and self deprecating humor remains. The Low-tech part of this work is Polariod
photography and home video.

My first Video, Resume Safe Speed, (1997) was inspired by a book of photographs by Richard Billingham.
This video analysis my family relations as I juxtapose a holiday visit with my family and National Geographic
footage of African Wildlife.
My second video, Extraneous Circumstance, (1997) features abandoned tarmac steps moved to a soybean
field by the Secret Service in preparation for an ultimately cancelled visit by the former Vice-President, Dan
Quayle. The Video presents these steps as a poignant metaphor of my own fate.
My third Video, Fluids in Red and White, (1998) juxtaposes me giving blood with the milking of cows and
complements my body of paintings exploring the purging process
